When a client recently came to us with concerns of light and privacy on her screened in porch, we knew exactly what to do. The community is Carolina Preserve at Amberly in Cary NC. It is a great destination for retirees as the list of amenities are much longer than other communities. However, the homes are built on very small lots and privacy at times can be difficult.
We ultimately selected a roller shade made by Draper Inc. that consisted of a PVC blend. Great for durability and filtering the harsh afternoon sun. With the shade down during the day, the customer can see through the material and enjoy a good book on her porch without the neighbors knowing she is there. The client was adamant about the color green so thats what she got. :- ) We were adamant in her choice to add side cables. The design is simple and straightforward. When you raise or lower the shade the tight cables hold the material in place on windy days. Notice the white fascia at the top. It protects the shade while raised and hides the material to give a finished look.
